Jaime Castillo-Gamboa
I am a philosophy PhD student in the School of Philosophy at the University of Southern California. I also teach in the Philosophy MA at the National University of San Marcos in Perú. In the past, I did an MA in philosophy and a BA in humanities at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, where I also taught for many years.
I work in metaphysics, philosophy of language and metaethics. In my dissertation, supervised by Gabriel Uzquiano, I motivate and explore radical approaches to the metaphysics of social objects. Other topics I work on include proper names, gradable adjectives, vagueness, and moral error theory.
I'm a founding member of Theorema - Sociedad Peruana de Investigación Filosófica, a philosophical organization dedicated to promote analytic philosophy and to establish a wider-reaching network of students in Peru and Latin America.
